סַנְטוּרֵי, סַנְטוּרַיָּאm. pl. (סנטר; cmp. נָטַר) grudge, hidden hatred, vindictiveness. Gen. R. s. 67 עד … סנטורי דרומי Ar. (ed. סנטרי׳, סנטרוי, corr. acc.) to this day people exclaim, ‘the vindictiveness of Rome (with play on senatores); Yalk. ib. 115 סנטוראי דרומאי (סנטיראי; corr. acc.). Y.Ab. Zar. I, 39c (play on Saturnalia, v. סְטַרְנַלְיָיא) ברומי צווהין ליה סַנְטוֹרַיָּיה דעשו in Rome they (the jews) call it (that festival of apparent good-will) the hidden hatred of Esau (Rome).
